On Saturday, July 25 beginning at 10 p.m., the Target Fireworks will host a grand finale for the 2009 Minneapolis Aquatennial. The pyrotechnic spectacular will pay tribute to the festival’s 70th anniversary by setting it to a soundtrack of seven decade of memorable music. The Target Fireworks will light up the downtown Minneapolis skyline with electrifying explosions set off from the Third Avenue Bridge. The best spot for viewing will be on the west side of the Mississippi River near the Stone Arch Bridge along West River Parkway. Bring your folding chairs, blankets, friends and family and come early to find your spot and enjoy the Xcel Energy RiverBlast beginning at 6 p.m. More than 10,000 pounds of explosives and 45 miles of wire are used to produce this summer celebration.
